 Day And Night. Fluttering, the butterfly sits on his finger. A strong facade but sometimes with a gentle heart. He lies on a floating cloud roaming the skies, far and free. Watching down to where people bustle along the sidewalks, where animals scamper and run. Children yawn down under, while light fills the silent sky. He watches as the quiet breaks. Dawn has arrived, the new beginning. Time pass, it's time to leave. He patiently waits for her to come. Any time now, he thinks to himself. There she stood shrouded by the other clouds. In her usual beauty, she approaches him on his cloud. It's her moment now. He gives up his seat to her like any gentleman, then fades away far from sight. She gently rises. Drowning herself in the sweet scent of dew from a bed of roses. At the same time, staring down, she sees the lamps and lights shining like coloured stars in the heavens. Listening to the whispers and snores of the people while endless dreams danced round their heads. Cool breeze surrounds and captures her breath, soothing her. Allowing darkness to loom itself between the houses below. Night has arrived, the grand finale. |
