WOLF.
"Daddy. He's back again." the little girl fast asleep, murmured in a voice rich with innocence and fear. By her side, he lets out a soft whine as though speaking. His warmth covers her in peace and sercurity, her companion. Unconsciously, she tugs at his fur, recognising the friend. They always enjoyed each other's presence even though she ought to stay away, she loves him. While he would lie close to her heart, allowing her to be embraced in his warmth. Each night he would come, and have her held close. Indeed, such friends they are. He is deceptive. His actions and care meant no harm but somehow his fangs would reach deep in tear out that little girl's heart, shreading it like fallen shards of glass. Some would call him a thief, but she calls him a wolf. She would awake in immense pain yet she does not blame anyone but herself. She looks at her friend with eyes of sadness and hurt. Despite all this, she does so time and time again, putting back the pieces, crack by crack. He looks into eyes of anguish and fear. Then vanishes and leaves her to mend and return. Taking his time, howling at the full moon, calling her to rise. Both waiting for an answer from the heavens above. Creature and man, a pair that can only last as friends. She whispers her final plea, "Daddy, please set us free." |
